| Some say she just protects me....... Everyone thinks the cat will like them. The foolish think they can tame the cat. Some who don't even know her, fear her. She is... Chi chi, spawn of Satan. My mother has been one of the few crazy people who have made very commendable efforts to befriend the spawn of Satan. For the month that I was stayng at my parents' place, my mom fed and watered her whenever I wasn't there, and even gave her treats But just when you think she's coming around, you blink and your hand starts bleeding. They never see it coming.... And if it's only your hand, consider yourself lucky. There have been numerous insodents resulting in facial damage (including eyelids, cheeks, lips, and neck), along with hand, arm, leg, and chest wounds. She has demonstrated such martial arts skills as supposed 90* mid air redirections and lightning fast (cat-like ) reflexes, along with displaying signs of possessing cunning intellectual abilities. To give an example of her reputation, here is a note I found which my mom had left one morning to my sister regarding the well being of the cat during the day to come: (haha, VD stands for Valentine's Day btw)
It seemed like an innocent note at first glance. But then I got a closer look:
Keeping in mind that my mom has 4 cats of her own, there was no mistaking which cat this note was referring to. She may indeed be a relative of the devil, but I still love her
Just look at that cute little thing.....how could she ever hurt a fly?.............. Even when you think she's sleeping......she's watching you.....

| Well, this tetris game is starting to remind me of a Tenacious D song... You can't kill the metal Level 45 1,551,480 points 6hrs 51mins 17sec I ask tetris this: (Stolen from Wikipedia ) [edit] Is it possible to play forever?Players may lose a game of Tetris for the following reasons: - They can no longer keep up with the increasing speed, or
- A specific implementation of the game without very responsive control fails to keep up with itself when the pieces' downward velocity exceeds the maximum lateral velocity the player can apply to a tetromino. In other words, the possibilities for tetrominoes' movement are limited to the shape of a triangle in the game arena on faster levels. Some players may consider this situation a design flaw; however, it may be reasoned that this is an inherent challenge for the game. Altering this aspect, such as by assigning numerical placements, would change the dynamics of the game approach.
The question Would it be possible to play forever? was first encountered in a thesis by John Brzustowski in 1988 and has been more recently investigated in published articles by Walter Kosters. The conclusion reached was that a player is inevitably doomed to lose. The reason has to do with the S and Z tetrominoes. If a player receives a large sequence of S tetrominoes, the naïve gravity used by the standard game eventually forces the player to leave a hole in a corner. Suppose that player then receives a large sequence of Z tetrominoes. Eventually, that player will be forced to leave a hole in the opposite corner without clearing the previous hole. Back and forth, the holes will necessarily stack to the top. Since the pieces are distributed randomly, this sequence will eventually occur. If played long enough, and the random number generator is theoretically perfect, any player will lose the game.[6] Practically, this may not occur. A good player may survive over 150 consecutive S and Z tetrominoes. On an implementation with a theoretically perfect random number generator, the probability at any given time of the next 150 tetrominoes being only S and Z is one in (7/2)150 (approximately 4×10-81). This number has the same order of magnitude as the number of atoms in the known universe.[7] Most implementations use a pseudorandom number generator to generate the sequence of tetrominoes, and such an S–Z sequence is almost certainly not contained in the sequence produced by the 32-bit linear congruential generator in many implementations (which has roughly 4.2 × 109 states). In fact, newer Tetris brand games from 2001 and later tend to follow a new guideline such that the randomizer generates all seven tetrominoes in a permutation at one time, guaranteeing an even distribution over the short term,[10] and this randomizer allows the player to continue a game indefinitely in theory.[11] Several of the subproblems of Tetris have been shown to be NP-complete on a playing field of size n. And FYI: Effect of Tetris on the brain According to Richard Haier, et al. prolonged Tetris activity can also lead to more efficient brain activity during play. When first playing Tetris, brain function and activity increases, along with greater cerebral energy consumption, measured by glucose metabolic rate. As Tetris players become more proficient, their brains show a reduced consumption of glucose, indicating more efficient brain activity for this task. And a little freaky but interesting....: Tetris effectFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe Tetris effect is the ability of any activity to which people devote sufficient time and attention to begin to dominate their thoughts, mental images, and dreams. It is named after the game of Tetris, which requires the player to rotate and move falling blocks of different shapes (see tetromino) to create, and thereby eliminate, complete horizontal lines of blocks. People who play Tetris for a long stretch of time may be subsequently involuntarily prompted to think about ways different shapes in the real world can fit together, such as the boxes on a supermarket shelf or one's home furniture. They may also see images of falling tetrominos at the edges of their visual field or when they close their eyes. They may also dream about falling Tetris shapes when drifting off to sleep. [1] The Tetris effect can occur with other computer games, with any prolonged visual task (such as classifying cells on microscope slides, weeding, picking fruit, or even playing chess) and can also occur in other sensory modalities. For example, in audition there is the tendency for a catchy tune to play out unbidden in one's mind (an earworm). In kinesthesis, a person newly on land after spending long periods at sea may move with an unbidden rocking motion, having become accustomed to the ship making such movements (known as sea legs or mal de debarquement). Stickgold et al. (2000) have proposed that the Tetris effect is a separate form of memory, likely related to procedural memory. This is from their research in which they showed that people with anterograde amnesia, unable to form new declarative memories, reported dreaming of falling shapes after playing Tetris during the day, despite not being able to remember playing the game at all. On my search for the actual tetris world record I came across this: http://digg.com/gaming_news/Tetris_world_record_ (you must copy and paste) I also hang my head in shame sir. But now I have a goal. I will beat this record. And yes, them are fightin words. | | |
| While I'm at work, between answering phones, I play Tetris on my cell. I used to play and love regular Tetris, until one day when I was waiting to pick a friend up at the skytrain and went on the net on my phone to see if there were any cool new games that tickled my fancy. I came across Tetris Mania. After viewing a few screen shots, and judging by my previous love for regular Tetris, I knew this was the game for me. After the download was complete, I dove right it. Wow....new concepts, new levels.... it was everything I could want and more. I only have one problem with this game.... Apparently, it can't beat me. I have been playing on 'Cascade Mania' for I don't know how long so far (suspending the game as needed), but I am going to start keeping track. I figure probably a week now on the same game. It doesn't seem to get any harder, and I just can't bring myself to suicide. I am now up to level 35 with 723,960 points and have played a total of 4hrs 11mins and 17seconds. This has got to be a record. | | |
